Visiting Badlands National Park in South Dakota is sorta like visiting the moon or some weird planet.  It can be quite dramatic when first seen.  My first approach was from the east on one of the back roads.  I crested a rise and suddenly the entire landscape changed before me, wow!  Be sure to get out of the car and walk around a bit.
