This is a great place, one of my favorite little gems on the Colorado Plateau.  It's a little off the beaten path, but it sure is worth the trip, depending on how crowded it is.  It is open to and popular with ATVers and dune buggies, so if you go looking for peace and quiet you won't find it if they are there.  Last time I went, I really wanted to camp there, but the campground was jammed full of huge RVs with trailers and lots of dune buggies and dirt bikes and ATVs, being revved and raced all around.  It sucked.  I wish humanity was not so obsessed with speed and moving around really fast.  And can't people stand to be away from TV and electricity for a night or two?

But if you can get there on an off day it's ssssooo nice.  The dunes are exceptional, due to the pinkish red color of the sand.  And the backdrop of rocky cliffs is real nice.

There is a campground with a shower and this is a great place to spend the night on the Colorado Plateau, if you can beat the crowds.  Don't tell anyone I told you about what a cool place this is!

This place is right in the thick of the Colorado Plateau.  Nearby places of interest include Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Lake Powell, the Wave, Grand Canyon National Park, and don't forget the radical polygamist communities of Hildale, Utah, and Colorado City, Arizona!
